I have about 100 pictures to go though so I will show results and more pictures later.

Here is Joe Bowman getting set for a practice flight with his "Road Runner". The sun was just coming up.

Participation was incredibly high. Last flights on Saturday ended after 7:00!

Nice coverage, Tom.

Just a note as to the debilitating heat we experienced....on Saturday's Racing "heats", the old-style Fox handles lying in the sun got too hot to handle. About thirty seconds was the limit for sitting on the asphalt, ie, "hot assphalt syndrome" was observed on both Racing and Stunt circles .

John Bender uses heat-shrink on his handle lead-out wraps, and it shrunk. Raising my left arm in the universal sign of medicine mens' truth-telling.....a metal tank un-soldered itself causing a lean run on an otherwise stellar flight, while plastic tanks performed flawlessly.

1). Jason Greer and Dale Gleason tied for third in profile stunt on Saturday. Local rules require that in case of a tie they must thumb wrestle for the trophy. Jason wins.
2). Don Cranfill, 2012 District VIII champ awards the trophy to the 2013 champ, Dale Gleason.
3). Don Cranfill receives the plaque for his 2012 championship.
4). Dale Gleason, past President and Pilot Emeritus of the Itinerant Stunt and Chowder Society is the 2013 District VIII champion. Congratulations, Dale!!!

It was a great contest. The turnout was incredible. I think I counted 16 competitors
in Profile Stunt on Saturday! A big thanks to the Gleasons, Tom Farmer, all the judges
and of course the hard working, but never complaining tabulators.

It sure felt good to come fly again with a great bunch of competitors. As always the Dallas club puts on a great meet. Tom and the folks went out their way to make sure there was plenty of food and especially water to consume. The Judges, I believe had the toughest jobs of all, however the horrendous heat didn't help much. They did a great job. Thanks to all that helped make it a success.

That sounds good to me. Let me know what you have in mind. That said, I want to draw some attention to shot #18 which is a shot of Tom Niebuhr's first class graphic and stencil products.
I saw his stuff first hand, and I can tell you that this is Pro Stunt Quality work. In addition, Tom knows that more than likely, we will have some sort of clear coating over them, so they won't fall apart and crinkle like the crappy stuff.
If you plan on adding stenciling or lettering to your next plane, I would strongly advise you to look here first.

Fred Kocher is a veteran control liner from Shreveport and he and son Steve can usually be found at local contests taking great photos of the action. The Southwestern Champs(Charles Ash Memorial) was no exception. Here are a few action shots he took of different launching styles. There's a lot more pix, but it looks like the contest has been pretty well covered!

Bruce Shipp, USAF retired, is back on the scene...here his wife shows how they launch in Wichita Falls, Tx, where they have lots of snakes!

Next Steve Moon (he's the Lefty) gives Gaylord Elling a shove...

Sepied is a great kid. Very smart and enthusiastic. He has given two presentations at our club meetings with complete confidence. Many adults can't do that.
