Bruce forgive me the oversight. Better watch that. Robert has my flights on video and threatens to show the world!
I'm not at the Nats, but I will sit here and quietly revel in the fact that four out of five of the qualifiers are from the west coast, and exactly half of those are from the Pacific Northwest.
I'll ignore, at least for now, the fact that exactly none of them are from Oregon.
OK. Maybe not quietly.
The San Francisco Bay Area is openly gloating. Must be the fluoride in the drinking water.
Out of curiosity, what are the demographics of the Open Judges? (not implying anything)
For Open Top 20, Texas, Kentucky, Arizona, Alabama, Pennsylvania, and ???. I would have to check on those used for Advanced and Expert.
I would also add, the contest itself is running like absolute clockwork, aided by nearly perfect although cool weather. Bob, Curt, Elaine, and Priscilla, and Dave and Steve, are to be commended, it's just smooth as silk. I have heard exactly zero complaints about the administration, which is rare indeed.

Maybe I missed it but what happened in Classic and OTS?Sad to say woefully under reported. I spent a little time over there but couldn't really get in the weeds of telling the story. I know many photos were taken and other can give an overview. Hope they will.
Best, DennisT
And final results........
Congrats to all the winners! H^^
Howard's plane offers a polka beat sound as he heads for the handle.
Fantastic reporting Dave! We all thank-you!Hi Doug. Just got home to KC and glossed this over quickly and found your question. I can answer only for me and my .76 although it was probably about the same for all. During early morning practice and really early round flights I needed to open the needle up nearly half a turn to get the same launch rpm I got for evening practice the night before. As the day wore on the needle went in to the target rpm. Strangely fuel consumption wasn't changed much. That wasn't always true though as various fronts went through the needle might go anywhere. Just had to really rely on the tach and believe IT and not your ears. I made no prop changes. I also ran 15% nitro all week. Many cut back to as low as 7.
Of those guys running IC, how were the engine runs with the high humidity/ low temps?
Kaz won the Concours
. . .Congratulations to Kaz, one of the stunt world's finest modelers and fliers.=========================================================

It was a hard fought contest and in the end David stood at the top. I did my best with my new plane that only had 5 patterns on it when we left Dallas but it wasn’t enough to overcome David’s precision and consistency.
NWR (Memorial Day, presuming they get a site for next year) or Golden State (October) would be great places to come to one of our contests. That would be awesome.
For next years after entertainment I heard Banjok is building a plane for this.
Maybe I've missed it somewhere but one thing I've been wondering now that all the dust has settled is why hasn't anyone noted or proclaimed yet that an IC powered model WON IT ALL! (PE**)
That's where he always excels. I can beat him on individual flights when I am at my very best, which is how I manage to be competitive with him in local contests, or something like Top 20 day. But in these things he just grinds you down.
