Hello fellows,
This is just a reminder that the Baton Rouge Bi-Liners will be hosting their "2013 LEE LORIO MEMORIAL STUNT CONTEST" October 19th-20th in Baton Rouge, LA. The two day contest will have PROFILE (unlimited), OTS, CLASSIC, N-30, and War Bird Stunt events on Saturday, and Precision Aerobatics-(B,I,A,E) on Sunday. A detailed flyer is on this site's "EVENT" Section. Should have Motels available- LSU football game is away. Yawl try to make it!!

I'm heading down in a few minutes.(Saturday 10/12/13) 1530 miles to go. I'm bringing more planes for more events this time.

Glad you can make it again Perry! Pray you'll have a safe trip down. The flying site is going to be in great shape- You and the "BOOTLEGGER" should be able to get a fews days of practise in before the contest. Out of curoisity what events are you entering and what equipment?

The forecast for the Baton Rouge contest is 30% chance of rain for Sat., Oct. 19. , cold front should blow moisture out before noon. Showers will be scattered. Winds NNE 8mph. Sunday, clear- sunshine- winds-NNE< 7mph. It is looking like the front is going to move the moisture out sooner than initially forecast, so the possibility of any Sat. rain is shrinking, that is a good thing! Looking forward to seeing all the usual suspects!

I'll try to post some photos tonight. My dad and I took a few thousand pictures on Saturday. I picked out about a dozen of them last night, but I didn't have any photo resizing software on the new computer. I have downloaded a couple of programs to try.

Thanks Steve for being there and taking/posting these great pic's. The plaque was made and donated by Brent Rogillio. I don't know what you call the process where by he uses a photo as the base for the image you see-it's really neat. The image or photo was provided by Steve and Fred Kocher. They sent a number of pictures on a CD for Brent to chose. We appreciate their help in providing the great pictures. The image in the plaque is of the late Mr.Mike Donavan flying inverted at the Nov. 2012 District VIII EL DORADO, ARK. contest. This was Mr. Mike's last contest to compete. He passed away in 2013. Brent Rogillio wanted to make this plaque to commemorate and honor the life of this wonderful gentle man and present it to Mrs. Joan Donavan, his very sweet and precious wife. This was done Saturday night at a nice restaurant in Baton Rouge along with her grand daughter, Jennifer , and sixteen District VIII fliers and their wives, remembering and honoring Mr.Mike, as well as, honoring Mrs.Joan for being his inspiration and help mate. There were not very many dry eyes in the room.
I will post complete contest results in the next day or two.

It felt good to be back to the place called "red stick." It rained the first part of Saturday, but when it cleared the weather was absolutely wonderful clear through the rest of the weekend. A great contest, great people. Doug; you and your folks put on a good show.

Ole Ty had a wild cayuse in one of his rounds in Classic when his engine went super lean. Fastest full pattern I've ever seen flown. Ty kept that ole Argus corralled for the whole flight. A true buckaroo ridin' a wild bronc.

Paul, He told me that it was a Pat Johnson plan set of the Red Tail Mustang from W W 2.
It really flew well..
