Hot Pursuit 2
« on: March 04, 2012, 05:47:24 AM »
My new PA75 powered Hot Pursuit 2 is finally complete.

Finished weight is 61 oz. Basically the same Trivial Pursuit based design as the previous but this one has wing mounted gear and lost foam wing.

Wing & tail are removable, wing is one piece.

Paint is acrylic lacquer with 2 part acrylic urethane top coat.

Regards,
Joe Parisi

Joe :

Excellent execution, great lines - love the shark mouth. The colour scheme is very complimentary and works very well.
Wing mouted landing gear gives it a nice stance.

Underneath is exactly the same as the top.

I enjoyed watching this build come together, good luck at the Australian Nats in April.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Claudio - the wing is covered with polyspan. The sheeted surfaces with 0.2oz carbon veil. The flaps & tailplane are sheeted foam core.

The stencils including the sharks mouth were all designed & cut out my hand, very time consuming but worth the effort.

The sharks mouth & eyes were copied from a poster of a real P40 Kittyhawk in the "flying tigers" squadron.

It's a lovely model, and clearly some excellent engineering to make it all take apart and keep the weight down. I'd love to see details of your design and construction on that aspect.

It may be too pretty to be flown? ;->

Great work, it's an inspiration.

Awesome looking model no doubt. Great job on the graphic/design layout too, very tasteful and complimentary to the airplane. Did you paint the mouth or is it some sort of decal?

Read replly #10.   Without laser cutting or vinyl cutting machines, I would say that is quite an accomplishment on his part.  Did I say I love the model? H^^
