Title: 2011 Control Line Precision Aerobatics Nats Event and BOM Rule
Post by: Trostle on April 21, 2011, 10:09:10 PM
To make a long story short, I can announce that for those planning to participate in the 2011 Nats CL Precision Aerobatics event, that if your entry was legal last year under the then current BOM requirements defined in the AMA Genral section of the rulebook, it will be legal this year.  The recent changes made to that BOM rule that removed the specific interpretation for Precision Aerobatics do not change the basic requirements of the BOM rule.

The changes do not disenfranchise any particular pilot or group of pilots that competed with BOM legal models in previous years.

The AMA will support the 2011 Nats CLPA Event Director on this matter.

Will the "current" ruling be posted on the AMA site?

This means if it was illegal last year its illegal this year as Well all RTF and ARF planes were illegal last year.

I think you could still protest the commie planes because of the "pre-finished" clause....
They weren't legal last year.....just unprotested .

OK, I think I get it.  "Average kit" could mean anything, as long as the kit isn't covered.  By 2005 it had come to mean what the words added then specified.  Removing the words does not change what "average kit" means.

I don't find "pre-finished" in the rule.  It says "covering where used".
