To All PAMPA members:
As you probably realize by now, we have a new Membership Chairman, Noel Drindak. This is great! However, his tenure doesn't take over until January 1st, and in the meantime, I have about 700 renewals sitting on my table.
Why are they sitting, you may ask??
Well, on November 11th, I had rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder to fix some accumulated and recent damage. That's the good news.
The bad news is that my right arm is in a sling for 12 weeks, which limits my activities for awhile (do the math!). Sometimes I have both hands workable, sometimes about 1-1/2 and sometimes, only one. This slows things down!
In addition, some of the 'friendly' pain medication keeps me on the good side of pain management, but limits my use of heavy machinery, such as my brain, or a keyboard!
The renewals are being processed, and information is being sent to Noel, but Membership transition may take just a little longer than any of us would like. The processing order is: sort envelopes alphabetically, open envelopes, check payment against the form, separate the checks for deposit, sort the forms for credit card and data entry.....then enter the info. Right now, most of the envelopes are opened and the checks are stacking up. The current outstanding checks should be deposited by next week and the credit card info will be entered. I guess I'm slowing down in my old age!
In the meantime, if you have any questions on your renewals, please don't just write and ask "Is mine done yet??". I get about 100 emails a day, and try to keep up with them, but you need to help by telling me WHEN you sent it, which category it was for, and how you paid for it. Until I get this info in the database, it takes 30 minutes to an hour, PER INQUIRY, to chase through all the emails, faxes, credit card apps, etc. Please don't ask if you don't need to……just assume that it is in the system and that you will receive all that you've signed up for.
Membership cards also fall in to that 'secondary' category as well. These require creating a card and addressing/mailing an envelope. It doesn't sound like much, but the bigger concern is that the membership roster is current and correct so you all get your Stunt News in a timely manner!
Thanks! I appreciate your consideration of the circumstances!

Take care of yourself first. Now I need to see if I even sent my renewal or not. As I questioned the ballot. It was due the day I received it. Remember, take care of yourself as we need you.
