There's some info here that may help. I asked the same question on the Cox engine forum, and this guy swears by them. The reply quoted is from londke3:
Hello, is there a part # or exact name and type of line that you recommend for 1/2a planes? I would like to know what size to get for a heavier 1/2a stunt plane powered by a TD 049. I would like the line length to be 42' also. How are these PowerPro lines compared to steel 008 lines? Is there any performance loss? I would appreciate your thoughts and recommendations! Thanks! Kevin K.
We are currently using PowerPro 40lb Hi-Viz yellow for our 1/2A combat planes at 42' length. We use the 40lb because it still has to measure .012 like steel for combat use in competition. If you are just sport flying 1/2A stuff you can easily use the 20lb or 30lb and still be safe. Original Power Pro is great but they now have Power Pro Maxquatro which is 25% thinner than original but with the same rated break strength.

I have been happy using PowerPro 30 lb test. Have used it for various planes, but probably the one of most interest was on a Lil Satan with a strong reedy Mouse Motor. The very approximate diameter of these was around .012 inches.
I found that white was plenty visible enough on grass or asphalt.
Good luck with yours,
Dave

The stuff I'm using over here in England is Power Pro hi-vis yellow, 15 kg (33 lb.) with a quoted diameter of 0.23mm (approx. 9 thou.). I'm using it at 35ft. for 0.75cc diesel and 45ft. for 1.5cc diesel sport/stunt models, with perfect satisfaction.
