Thank you, John, and the very same to you. Protecting our freedoms is a priviledge not just a duty.

John, I want to share in thanking all those who serve and who have served in all branches of our military.
My late father was a Navy pilot.

I too want to thank the men and women who are and have served, I pray for there safety every day. My father was a Marines at Pearl, and my father-in-law was on the first wave at Normandy beach. (both survived but the events they saw stayed with them the rest of there lives) My uncle was a tail gunner on the B-17, "Hells Angles", ( the second B-17 to get there 25 missions) and they were shot up many times. All three have medals, and as in most cases, don't like to talk about them. I serve in the "Big Red One" in Vietnam in 65/66. I am thankful for this country, and I know all would do it again if they had to. I think now of my grandchildren, and pray that there love of God, family, and country would follow in the footsteps of there forefathers.
Blessings to all who wait for there love ones to return home. I will continue to pray for them and you.

Allen

Not only am I proud to have served, but my stint in the Navy gave me a lucrative career in electronics that would enabled me to be a full time model pilot if I so desired.  I was discharged 19 days early because the Essex was going on a 6 week shake-down cruise after overhaul in '62 and Kennedy blockaded Cuba on my original seperation date!
George, were you a submariner on the east coast?  I was in an anti-submarine squadron on the Essex out of Quonset Point, RI, and our outfits may have operated togehter!
Thanks vets, and active men & women - we owe you our best!
