1st day back in the shop
« on: July 16, 2007, 04:46:16 PM »
I have forgotten how much I love this. First day back in the shop I have framed up the Stab ,elev, rudder ,fuse sides and doublers. Tonight I will cut motor mounts and start assembling the fuse. It will be the same numbers as my jet with a more conventional look. 10 nose 18.25 tail. 62 inch WS. 28 tail span. the aerodynamics are borrowed from Randy Smith.

How much can you do with a lawn dart. By the way  my Thunderbolt  is for sale. I have decided to change direction. Back to the norm. If your interested in the T-Bolt PM me. It will be pricey so be forewarned.

Pictures to be posted in building section as soon as I am a little farther along.

Bob,

Glad to see that you are in good spirits, and back in the shop, doing what you love.  Cut balsa does smell good, doesn't it, even if it does get up your nose?

By all means, post photos of your construction of the new bird.  I always look forward to, and enjoy your construction photos.   I learn things, and it's inspiring, too.

Did you do any drawings for this new plane, or are you using the "draw on the balsa" technique?

Cheers.

By all means, post photos of your construction of the new bird.  I always look forward to, and enjoy your construction photos.   I learn things, and it's inspiring, too. Thats what this place is for. Built airplanes none stop from the  Sumner of 04 till 6 months ago, Personal problems made it difficult to build too. I am back in full swing again. Look for 3 planes to come out of this shop before years end.

Did you do any drawings for this new plane, or are you using the "draw on the balsa" technique? It will be what it will be. A Lawn dart. So I just build as I go. Numbers in my head.

Cheers.

p.s.  Thanks for your efforts to provide the forum. The reward is more than you think. I love providing a place where you can come and get good info. The engineers don't know everything!

Bob,
I figure by now you should have the wing RTC and the fuse all framed up.  How's it going?  Do you still want my scale?  :##
