1986 Maximation
« on: June 09, 2008, 08:14:21 AM »
 Hi All;

  Model Aviation April 1986 page 65 shows Ted Fancher with what is call a prototype. It was named the "Maximation" and is "Quadra Powered". That is all the info that is givin. I would like to know much more about this airplane, ie. all specs, was it ever flown, does it still exist, plans availability etc.

Bill,

It was an April Fool pic. The Quadra is a converted chain saw engine used in RC. Sort of a "first generation" of the larger engines.

I posted the pic over on SSW. Here it is:

  Nope. no April Fools joke George. According to Ted, it's for real. That's him but he is not the builder. He can't remember the name of the builder but the plane is a 2X Sig Banshee and it was powered by a "Quadra".  Now to see if I can track the builder down.  LOL

Still waiting on reports of the flight of the "Ringmaster 1000".  Now how come Teddy Boy hasn't commented on this little known history of his?  DOC Holliday
