Guys,
I'm just starting to cut lumber on a 1952 Nobler (MAN plans). The CG location is not shown, but my calculations show the bell crank pivot point to be at 25% MAC, which is 6.25" forward of the flap hinge line. Any suggestions as to the best CG location. I absolutely hate to add nose or tail weight after the plane is complete. I did a search, but didn't find the answer. Thanks for your input.

Thanks Ty. Your info makes perfect sense and appears to be a good starting point in relation to the MAC. I agree to never use the bellcrank as a reference. I was just supplying the info FYI in case someone thought the bellcrank should be repositioned. Thanks again.

Hi Paul,
I agree with Ty and would "start" around the high point of the wing. I have done that for around 50 years and it seems to work on 99% of the planes I have ever built. Never had a really tail heavy one doing it that way, which is good. ;D We can always add tail weight if needed.

y1 = Highpoint really good starting point, depends on engine. Big Power..

My Nobler flys perfectly with the CG three inches back from the lead edge, where it meets the fuselage.

hello everyone, I am building a 52 Nobler from plans and the CG shown on the plan is at the spar were it meets the fuselage. Am building the wing and only have the wing rib number one to go by.It was fun to figure out rib size to wing tip.Have wing almost done.

Yes, CG on the green box Nobler plans shows on the middle of the "D" tube spar.
