I am building one these that is a copy of the Enterprise kit. The wing tips are just sheet balsa with no bracing. If I change the tips but retain the outward shape is that acceptable? I would like to put ribs on the tips not only for strength but also to be more pleasing to the eye.

I am curious as to what one looks like.

As long as the addition to the tips can't be seen, you are good to go. But, I have seen adjustable lead outs that no body protested as well as out board wing weight boxes. D>K

As long as the outer surface stays the same, the construction does not matter. Many of the old designs needed some better internal engineering.... ~^

Adjustable leadouts and outboard wing weight boxes should never be protested or even suggest that they could be protested. From the PAMPA Rules for Classic Stunt:
"...Adjustable tip weights, leadouts and removable landing gear ... are allowable."

Thanks Keith, I think I'm developing dementia. H^^

Color me confused. I would have expected a 1948 design to be built to the OTS rules and not the Classic rules. D>K Steve

OK.
PAMPA rules for OTS:
Among the listed "Allowable Modifications":
"Adjustable Leadouts"
"Adjustable Tip Weight"
There are some provisions about the landing gear for OTS, but none prevent the use of a removable landing gear system.

So am I. Any resemblance to the Hot Rock?

I have a picture of the Tuckette but unsuccessful in posting it. Says I am timed out, try to resubmit. pdf file is only 149kb. ???????

Let's try this.

Interesting airplane. Shows how things have evolved. This thing is only a bit larger than a good 1/2 A stunt ship, yet the add shows it can be for a .65.
Built light, an .09 or a 15 might make a good combination for OTS.

looks like a drone diesel up front

The engine in the photo is a 1948 Torpedo. 24 glow
The plans show this as well I just acquired a .29 for mine which is also on the plans. I wanted the correct engine for this project.

Nice-looking little thing - NO resemblance to the Hot Rock. Should go beautifully with a 2.5cc diesel.

Nice looking? My tastes must be different. It makes a Flite Streak look sexy.

Funny, I always thought a Super Combat Streak had a certain je ne sais quoi about it. Anyway, compare the Tuckette with the average 1948 C/L design, and it stands up pretty well - at least as neat as the SNAFU Magician (which, by the way, flies very well if you build it light and don't over-power it - a .19 is just about right).
