1/4" combo wrenches

 Fellow's I am looking for some 1/4" combo wrenches that have a 6 point opening on the box end, can any body tell me where I can get these?  Thanks a lot

     I got mine from Orchard Supply Hardware, but try Sears.

Sears Craftsman. Ignition wrenches is what you want to ask for.

       Bruce is showing his age!  They are no longer called "ignition wrenches" but are referred to as miniature or micro wrenches. They don't make ignitions where you need these any more!!   I still have mine from the the first set of Craftsmen tools that I bought when I was 18 years old, and the plastic envelope that they came in says "ignition wrenches.' I got another set with a tool set O bought about 20 years ago and those said miniature or something like that. Either way, they are handy. If you are looking for tools for working on needle valve spray bars and such, Jim Lee has some really neat socket wrenches in his offerings. Those, and some old fashioned nut drivers, which are 6 point, along with the ignition wrenches cover just about everything. OS and Saito usually give you some wrenches with their engines when purchased and you may find those at swap meets and such.

i just looked at my mini wrenches and they are all more than 6 point on the box end, also the box end is angled on all of them.

I doubt anyone makes the exact animal you're asking for.  Most small wrenches like that are 12 point on the box end in very small sizes like that.  Wrenches like that are usually used in tight places and don't require a lot of torque be applied hence it's usually desirable to have 12 points to allow small movement and then move the wrench head around the nut etc.  5 point wrenches on the other hand are usually used where very high torque is to be applied since the six point opening allows more metal in contact with the nut.  Even in those application they can be a pain in tight quarters.

👍  Yep, and getting older.  It also shows how long it has been since I shopped for tools.  Bought both boys complete stocked roll always for high school graduation in 07 and 08. They had ignition wrenches then...

You can go to a Sears, find a sales person over 50, and ask them for a set of wrenches formerly known as ignition wrenches😉

I am also revealing my age since I have a set of the Craftsman 10-piece ignition wrenches, bought many years ago.  Would Sears still have these?  If not, I would not know where to get another set.  They are, as stated, great for the spray bar nuts and such.

What surprises me is that Sears is still in business.  They may not be for much longer.
