OK so maybe not 130 but a lot.
Two weeks ago I was contacted by Chuck at Mod-L-Mania, he needed 40 of our tethered models (simple plane on a string, get kids started building) for a after school project. When we got them delivered he told me that he needed 30 more and there was only 4 days left. I told him that I would bring a crew to help with the expected 70 elementry school kids. We made up an additional 70 design kits (Bag of balsa) and showed up at the school last night with them. There was 130 kids and parents........what a mad house. I, my 4 person crew (1 woman, 2 teens and 1 old fart) and Chuck ran from table to table helping kids and adults to assemble the kits then the two teens took the kids out and taught them to fly. Everywhere you looked there was smiling kids flying model planes on a string (Hmmm like control line). By the way the two teens were both G I R L S!
WE ALL HAD A BLAST!!!!!
H^^ Hat's off to Chuck and Mod-L-Mania for this GREAT program.

Great news Larry. Keep it up and you could be the Jim Walker of this era. Later, DOC Holliday

That sounds great.
Sometimes I go to local elementary schools to teach about aerodynamics, and we build the AMA rubber-powered Dalta Dart. Maybe next time we'll try one of the tethered models.

Chuck, owner of Mod-L-Mania, is one of the real great guys in the hobby. He works with every youth group that comes along, he even provides an area where you can build your and he can help you. The other day he was cutting a pine wood derby out for a father and daughter and even gave them a model plane too. I do not know how much longer he will be in business, he gives away so much and business is so slow.
He is the kind of guys that we lose when we ignore our local hobby stores.
