I bought one.  I have used it a couple times with an AP .061 and it seems pretty powerful.

I prefer the Miller starter. However, Norvel made a good one, and Sullivan seems to have gotten the early problems eliminated. You may find a used Ace unit on e-bay too.

Make sure you use a 1/2-A engine that's suitable for a starter.  Using a starter on a Cox reedy with an aluminum prop drive running against the aluminum crankcase is a quick way to ruin an engine.

the norvel is more powerful than it needs to be, I use it on .15 sized. 

We use old DC motors out of rc cars or drills and a small nicad pack with great effect.  On small motors wimpy is better.

That lime green Sullivan unit worked fine for me.  I burned one out after several years and bought two more.  I used to on TeeDees.  I was actually a bit too powerful. I ran it up to full speed, then released the trigger and started the engine while it was coasting down. 

One bit of advice, on those 12 volt power panels with fuel pump, glow driver and starter, don't use the starter and glow driver at the same time.  The starter steals power from the glow driver.  If you're using a plug that needs full boost you may have a problem.
