BBQ and a fun day... a few pictures
« on: October 14, 2006, 07:13:41 PM »
Well today we had a small turn out, but everyone had a large time. The weather was great and the BBQ was very good.
Cliff had a Flite Streak Trainer, Green and Yellow with an Enya .19 on it. Man that engine sipped the fuel and it had lots of power. Easy starts too.
Willie had a  Flite Streak Trainer also, Army Green. Nice finish. Power was a Leo .15. Same thing, nice easy starts and nice power. I think he tried a touch and go, but it was a touch and stop, break off the rudder and rip out the hinges. Ouch!
Arlan and I spent the afternoon chasing that perfect setup and engine run. Arlan with his Tutor II and me with the TwistStang.
Arlan helped me get the Sky Ray dialed in. I now have good engine runs and it is a real fun plane to fly.
Willie had a few more planes in the truck. I can not remember what his white plane was called but it looked nice as did his U-Key.
Kreth had his lime green and pink Flite Streak Mule, and was caught tipping his new hat as he flew past.
Steve showed up for a short time with a nice P-40 that he was working on.
It was a nice full day of Fun Flying, chatting, and eating BBQ as only it can cooked in the Mid-South.

My white plane is a Bearclaw designed and kitted by John Lowry.  Very easy build.  I was impressed with the little Leo .15 with my homemade venturi and S.T. needle on the Flite Streak Trainer.  I should of flown something else after de-kitting the rudder and tail of the F. S. Trainer but I think I got a little gun shy.  I had a great time.

Nice shirt I have on complete with finger-cut blood spots.  Moral of story, get someone to hold airplane while you are cranking-setting needle etc.
