The first stupid thing I noticed was that once he was airborne and opver water, he was casting toward the SHORE!! Pulled the fish out from an area he could have cast to standing on dry land.
Before ready to use R/C boats became prominent, we got at least 5 or 6 guys each year that came in each year looking for the simplest, cheapest R?C boat they could get. Nothing fancy, just electric off a typical R/C car battery. I was in the habit of asking any body that wanted to buy anything R/C what they were going to do with it and use it for. I was finally told by one gentleman that it was for fishing! There is a section of shore just below Bagnel Dam at Lake of the Ozarks where people fish, lined up shoulder to shoulder. There is a sign at a specific point that spells out that no boats or fishing of any kind past a specific point near the damn. The fish that flow through the gates and turbines get stunned and are easy pickings. The guys buying R/C boats were using them to haul their hook and line to the juicy spot and drop it. I was able to personally witness this on one trip. Hard to do if there are a lot of people around and not tangle lines. Don't know if this practice is still used or allowed these days, been a long time since I have been there.
Type at you later,
