« on: September 28, 2010, 04:00:18 PM »
A reminder that the 10th Annual Hi Johnson Memorial Stunt & Carrier contest is this weekend . Temperatures are forcast to be lower in the Southern California area , so come out to the Sepulveda Basin for some control line  competition . We will also have a circle and Ringmaster set up for the Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon.  Check Stunt Hanger events section for more info.

I didn't get to meet Hi Jonson but as a kid in H/S loved those C/S engines. There was several flyers who claimed their McCoy .35's were as good as anything available. Plus a few Fox boys. I said my Johnson will outrun anything you have. Winner get Qt can of Missle Mist. It was no match. I lapped them into shame. Anyway glad they have a contest for Hi Johnson. I have four C/S plain bearing one Jbb and a Sport Special. I had all the small case engines but sold them. One regret sold a S model that was really only stunt engine they made.

Jim,you keep hanging with that John guy and he,ll get you ALL crossed up! Seriously John is the greatest! Just dont let him near a Magician, boink, splat,no problem, he needs real airplanes like PLayboy or Palmer T-Bird 11 to challenge, must have DS eng as well!  Hope to see you guys there,  ROB F PS could probably twist and shout with Ringmaster if necess!!

I shall be there rain or shine.  See you on Saturday Bill.  As a young teenager I had the privilege of meeting Hi Johnson twice.  Once at his manufacturing plant.  I still own the Johnson .32 (no that's not a typo it is a .32) I bought when I was 17 and later had it modified with the 'Johnson hop up kit' that Lee Strickland installed.  I found out last year Lee did all the hop ups when he was a young man.  I had him sign the Voodoo wing, "engine by Lee Strickland".  Oh, yes the engine still runs great and the Voodoo fly great.

The forecast for Saturday in the Sepulveda Basin is highs in the low nineties with light winds , Sunday's forecast is even cooler with highs in the eighties and light winds .  We will have food on site and once again this year we are awarding coffee mug trophys 1st thru 3rd place in all classes .
Cheers , Bill

Andy, Andy, Andy

You took one of the greatest classic stunt motors and hopped it up to fly a combat?!?!?!?!
You and Lee should be placed in the center of the flying circle while true blue stunt flyers hurl Fox .15s at you.

See you in a couple of weeks at the Golden State Meet.

Larry, Butafucco Stunt Team

Oh by the way, GO SHARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
