Well here it is!
You can get up close to this one. Don't let the light blind you. #^
I came in under my target weight of 50oz. I always build heavy. D>K
48.5 oz as you see it.
(starting with 3/4 oz of tip weight. some may come out)
LA .46 (I like them blue engines!)
I hope to fly it over Thanksgiving if the wind is gone by then. We had wind a advisory the past few days. HB~>
I want to thank Zuriel Armstrong for answering a lot of dumb questions, Wynn Robins for giving me the paint idea, and Jim Lynch for teaching me how to finish a plane to be proud of. And Randy Smith for designing a nice 40 size plane.

Way to go Paul, looks really nice!!! Hope it flies great for you. Give us flight reports, i am still trimming mine, especially after an inverted landing at the last contest, thankfully in the grass.
-
Beautiful, beautiful job. One of my very favorite designs. Kit or ARC? Trimmed right, this plane (built from a kit) can score in the top 10 in Nats Expert.
-
Paul,
Outstanding my friend. Paul stepped out with a kit and Polyspan and dope finish. He had one of the best finishers I know mentoring him through the process. It has been a lot of fun going step by step with Paul through the build.
Good job Paul and Good job Jim.

Looks very good Paul! A vector and LA 46 at that weight should be a killer!
-
now you'll wonder why you botered wth profiles for so long - the vector is a sweet flying plane.
Paint came out NICE!!!! well done young man!

Way to go Paul! That shine just gave my PC screen a sunburn...
-
Looks GREAT Paul!!!!

Thanks Guys!
This was a laser kit I won a few years ago and felt it was time to try my hand at something other then profiles.
It is polyspan on the wing and stab, silk span on everything else.
It is done like most folks do it.
It is all Randolph dope.
3-4 coats of clear dope, a coat of white, then most of it sanded off. Another coat of white, then a coat of red, then the gray.
steel wool the entire thing then added a few ink lines and a coat of clear on top. Automotive clear on the nose to keep raw fuel from attacking the dope. Mask graphics was provided by Louis.
Started it last February so I guess I had two winter projects.

What more can I add, other than keep from bruising the grass or adding tar patches to it. Did I say it looks great? H^^

You need two pairs of sunglasses to look at that! x:

Thanks guys for the kind words.....
Dennis,
Funny you should remember the Flite Streak. And I am still working on them. I let Tyler fly it the last time we were out and he broke the nose off of it. Putting it back together in my spare time. <=
Ryan has not seen the Vector yet... maybe this weekend.

Outstanding! great job!
-
Beautiful work of art! I've enjoyed seeing the progress as it came together. :)
In regards to me being jealous of this one:
I'm banking on the fact that age will mess with his reaction time, thus giving me a handicap in competition :P
Maybe I'll even ask the old man for some help putting together my next one.
Good work dad, Hopefully I can see a test flight when I come home for Thanksgiving. ;D

Great job Paul !!!!!

Good lookin' plane, Paul. Simple paint scheme is still eye-catching without a lot of distracting colors and whoop-de-doos. I like the name (?)

See what happens when you listen to your coaches. That is one great looking plane and paint scheme layout. H^^

Very Nice! You sure have done a great job! I'm going to have to hang with you and Zuriel more often. Both of you outclass me at this.
Look forward to judging you with this at Memphis next time.
