"Temporary Flight Restriction"
« on: February 17, 2011, 05:14:19 PM »
The President is flying into Portland tomorrow and a "Temporary Flight Restriction" has been ordered. Does this apply to Control Line? We don't want to get into any trouble. I can't find anything on the AMA web site that says CL is OK.

Being tethered to the ground, our toys are not "officially" aircraft at all.  But try explaining that to a guy with sunglasses, a black suit, an earbug and a bulge under his left armpit.   LL~
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!

We had an issue with this in the Detroit area last fall. We were told that day that we were included in the restriction. The club president went to the AMA and they worked with the FAA and Dept. of homeland security and got it cleared so you can now fly control line under a presidential no fly zone. You cannot fly rc under it though.
