"Old Fokker"...

 Here's some pics of a plane I whipped up last winter that was my main "beater" this past season. I started with an old set of ribs I had laying around from a Jetco "Dolphin" kit, then I designed and scratchbuilt everything else. It's got a 44" wingspan, and roughly the same moments as a Goldberg "Shoestring". The tail moment is about 1 1/2" longer though I think. The landing gear is Sig "Fazer" gear and the wheels are from a "Tutor II".
 Initially, power was an older Fox .36 C/L Schneurle that actually worked really well. A fellow club member prodded me late in the season to put the O.S..40 4-stroke he had on it. We made the swap and it's a really cool combo, with the 4-stroke sound and the WWI look.
 The name popped into my head during construction and I thought it was kind of fitting for the design-plus it's kinda fun to give the "old timers" in the hobby a little poke.

Sometimes when I read a post like this I remember the punch line from an old joke.

Yeah, but those Fokkers were flying Messerschmits.  Those "old Fokkers flying Messerschmits some how tickles me even more.

I can just picture in my mind someone seeing you fly it and remark;  Look at that old Fokker fly and the guy next to him saying yeah and he built it from scratch too!

That is an outstanding idea for a plane.  Simple, yet realistic, and Walter just might HAVE to kit that!

You listening Walter?  A great looking profile, and it "looks" right!  The numbers look like it would be a really good stunt plane.

 I don't want to sound biased, but it flies really well in my opinion, solid and stable. It's just a good simple sport design. I've never even bothered with any trimming since day one on it, and the only thing I've noticed is maybe a slight tendency to stall in real aggressive corners. I feel that slowing the controls a bit from where I've got them would fix most of that.

That old Fokker looks great.  It is nice and simple in layout.  The type of plane that you take out every day and fly.  Later,  DOC Holliday

I wonder how she'd do with flaps? I does look like a really fun plane to fly!
