Doc, yes!  there is however, a slight late fee for entering there. If you show up I will buy you lunch. (Little does Doc realize that lunch at Brodaks includes $1 hots and $1 Pizza. Doc thinks old Joe is offering some big time spending. Little does he realize what a value the entire week at Carmichaels is!)

My brother and I sure wish we could join you all at Brodak's, but we just can't justify to the wives  HB~> the 6800 mile round trip drive. Ya'll have fun . . . hear!

Hot Dogs were fifty cents everytime I've been, a buck will get you a hotdog or piece of pizza and a drink. Just mailed my entry in, have the trip money saved and looking forward to a great week...

Hot dogs, Pizza slice and your choice of soft drinks have been 50 cents.  I can fill up for 1.00-1.50 and then have the money saved to really get something great for dinner/supper (depending on what part of the country you're from).  Works for me.

I too have registered and sent in my money.  76 days and counting.

Later,  John

I believe the main problem would be a place to stay. If I go, I would also have to enter at the field.

Doc,
I know there is a lot right in front of John's house that is setup for RV's and I think I saw someone with a tent. There is a row of porty-0-potties on site complete with hand sanitizers.

Doc, there are also three campgrounds in the area. One easch in Mt. Morris, one in Dilliner and another in Jefferson.  don't know anything about them, but a call to Brodak's will get you the info I'm willing to bet. Brodak's entry blank also lists motels and resturants as well.

There is also a campground in Dry Tavern, about 5 miles north of Carmicheals on Rt 88. It's at the Dry Tavern Fire House and I'm told that the facilities are very good and reasonable.
The area at John's place has no electricity or sanitary facilities.

Hi Bob,

Could you send me your email address, I have a question about a Saito .40 4 stroke. Not a serious one, just a simple question.

Thanks,

Advice needed on planning a trip to Brodaks.  Probably wont be this year but Airfare prices from Australia are pretty good at the moment... just looking into how I would do this.

1. Where would I need to fly to?  Pittsburg?
2. Car hire to get to Carmichaels. How far is it?
3. Accommodation? Nothing in Carmichaels?  How far to nearest motel?
4. Might be able to bring one electric CL model. If I bought E Super CLown could fly in Classic, Profile and PA?
5. Would I need to be a member of PAMPA or AMA? Or would MAAA membership suffice?
6. Anything else I need to know?

Hi, Warren - I'll try and help out.

1. Where would I need to fly to?  Pittsburg?  Yes, that the closest large city.
2. Car hire to get to Carmichaels. How far is it? Roughly an hour, give or take depending on traffic.
3. Accommodation? Nothing in Carmichaels?  How far to nearest motel? Nothing in Carmichaels. Fifteen minutes away is Waynesburg - quite a few motels.
4. Might be able to bring one electric CL model. If I bought E Super CLown could fly in Classic, Profile and PA? YES.
5. Would I need to be a member of PAMPA or AMA? Or would MAAA membership suffice? pampa membership NOT required. Not sure if MAAA is accepted. Better check with Brodak's.
6. Anything else I need to know? That's pretty much it. I'm sure more questions will surface.

Hi Warren - The AMA insurance is reciprocal only with MAAC coverage for Canadian citizens.  Any foreign entrant from a different country should obtain coverage by becoming a foreign AMA member for $28.  See the AMA website at

http://www.modelaircraft.org/files/903.pdf

for the document.  Copy attached as well.   Tom Hampshire, co CD.
