Looks like a Russian Sukhoi Su-34...Hmmm.

I can see gyros becoming a "topic of interest" in C/L Navy Carrier.

It's here.  I just hope we can confine it to the throttle.  I am confident that I can beat all but a couple of you in an autopilot contest, but I don't think it's good for the sport.

If you want a helicopter, buy a helicopter.
It's only paranoia if they aren't really after you.

Take a close look at the man flying the model in this video. Notice anything unusual about him? Okay, I'll not be coy here for too long; he's young!

In my humble opinion, anything that that gets young people interested and active in CL flying is a good thing. Has anyone been watching TV of late? Sports networks? Have you noticed that it is the "Extreme Sports" that have captured the imagination of the younger set? Kids by and large don't want to do the same exact stuff that we did all of our lives, but they might be tempted to try the flying mode known as Control Line if there were new and more interesting (to them...) ways to do it. Well, here's one!

Okay, it does nothing for us older guys to see a model hover in the air. Heck, the Bi Slob has been doing that for years... Maybe that's what turns kids on, however, and we should embrace it as an avenue to keep CL alive and healthy for at least a couple more generations.

I'd wager that if we promoted a Bi Slob type "Extreme Event," some younger types might get involved. They also might take that mode  of flying to extremes (there's that word again...) of which we never imagined.

We simply cannot continue to expect the younger generations to perceive CL flying the way we did when we were kids; they have their own reality. CL could become a part of that reality if there were new horizons of flight regimes to explore that "light their fire."

Let's open our minds a bit and cultivate this sort of thing.

Bob is absolutely correct!!!!!!!

If this event is to grow, we must attract young fliers. For kids now a days something that flies is no big deal, heck you can by a $30 RC helicopter or airplane made by "Air Hogs" at your local toy store. Kids want EXTREME events. I know, I have two teenagers and a 5 year old.
