line rake
« on: September 26, 2014, 03:38:33 PM »

This seems simple but I have some basic questions. I know how to get "close" but what am I looking for after close?
Too far back and there's tons of tension in level flight but drops off overhead...too far forward and lose tension at tops of maneuvers? Is that right? Sometimes when i move them to correct anomolies above i get the opposite results. What if i need to move the back leadout forward but the front one is already too far forward? Any hints, tricks or tips? i can fly the pattern pretty well but notice little things especially when there is no wind. Usually lines going slightly slack at the top of inside loops..round and square. My up line is in front and the outsides seem fine so i cant move the front one back without moving the down line back too. HELP!

You want the lines to travel together, about half an inch apart.

Are you a member of PAMPA?  If so, download the last three issues of Stunt News, and read Paul Walker's Flying column.  He's going into the trimming process in great detail.  It's worth the price of a PAMPA membership just for that.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.
