"DORA 9" Focke-Wulf 190D-9
« on: June 23, 2015, 06:45:20 AM »
Are there anyone cutting parts for David McClellan's design of his Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 ?

I thought I'd ask the scratch builders for a set of parts if anyone is cutting this particular model?

I fell in love with Mr. McClellan's Dora design and I expect, eventually, to put one together.

If I had the time, I wouldn't be asking for assistance with parts, but I'm spread out with the Mig-3 and then the Stuka.

This would really really help me out.

Soooooooo, anyone building this Dora design by David McClellan?

Ye$, I will pay for part$ and even $end you the conte$t grade bal$a needed.

Or we could trade for graphics for this Dora model.

Thanks in advance.

I just don't know who the designer of it is, give him a shout
Thank you and God Bless

The Kit offered by Eric Rule at RSM is Keith Trostle's Focke Wulf TA152.  It builds into a very beautiful and scale like stunter.
I've seen Keiths fly and it is a very respectable and competitive stunt flier as well as being gorgeous.  I think the main differences between the full scale Ta152 and the  FW190-D is the different power plant in the 152 and a somewhat longer nose which makes it better for near scale stunt.

Gentleman, thanks for the replies.

The choice I would like to make would be the model that is closer to scale in appearance. My interest is really the 190D-9

I've always had interest in scale and now that I have interest in stunt, I'm combining the two.

This Stuka, which I designed and scratch built, is a clear example of the "complexity" in the scale/stunt design which I'm electing to acheive and accomplish.

Designing your own model from scratch with areas of detail, which resemble an actual aircraft, is where my interest is. As said quite nicly by David McClellan.

I don't expect to build the Focke Wulf with the detailing that's on my Stuka. Really different aircraft, but I would like a model that is as close to scale as possible.

Keith's model obviously, and David's model, are both examples of fine designs and excellent craftsmanship.  H^^

I built my FW 190 using David McClellan's plan for the fuse, but straight wing so I could run a pipe.
One of my favorite planes I've built.  No help though in cutting parts out though....

Robert,

Thanks for the reply. Nice looking model, you did a great job, fine detail and all!  H^^

Why would a straight TE be necessary when running a pipe?

I have no RE engine for a pipe, but I would consider the straight TE. Could improve flying characteristics?

Is that a Nobler wing?

Nice photos also!

Thanks again.
