Today, in Napa Ca., Dave (Mr. PA 75) Fitzgerald was caught on camera servicing his plane on an electric planes' UDT. Does he have no shame??
What's next for him, a real electric powered plane?
Well, I am not holding my breath on that one!
I am currently staying at Dave's place while we train together for Perth. We are leaving Saturday for downunder.
Our training has gone well. We have coached each other, and today was an especially good session as we both found mechanics issues with our posture etc. that when corrected made minor flaws disappear. Our equipment is working well, and tomorrow will be my last day of flying before packing to go. Dave will fly some Friday before doing his packing.
We hope to do well. The early nature of this world champs should not prove to be a detriment to us. El Nino has blessed us with some "reasonable" flying weather this winter and spring. I trust we will do well.
We will report back in after the competition.
-
ah man,, now there is slimey stuff all over the UDT ,,
be well men, we are all watching for updates and believing in our team,,
-
The very best to you and David in Perth.
The US could not have a stronger "Dynamic Duo" than "Paul and David".
You guys are proven competitors and can win it all. You've both proven that many. many times over.
Go do it again! Hard to say which of you will win but it will be one of you two I'm sure. A One two three sweep is even feasible with you guys.
Go Kick A$$ and take names.
Again Best of luck to you both and to the rest of the team.

This has been a "unique" experience. Two top competitors both trying to do well enough to win, helping each other get better.
I want to say THANKS to Dave for his help. He found a stance issue I have had for probably a decade, and worked with me long enough to resolve those issues. Now, I just have to remember to make those corrections each time I fly.
I only hope my comments and help have been beneficial to him as well.

Ya Know...that has always been one of the truly great things that seems to separate our "sport" from a lot of others.
Or maybe it's just the lack of Women and Money connected with it LL~ LL~ LL~

I'd been planning to speak to you about your faulty posture, Paul. <sigh> Another opportunity lost... ;) Meanwhile, show 'em how in Aussie! H^^ Steve

You guys must have had summer like weather there.
Now Henk and I have been trying to put in some quality training here, but the weather was colder and wetter then we've had all winter.
Making the batteries work at 42 deg is no little feat.
Like you, we've been helping eachother and we too managed to iron out some standard errors.
We left the 'ballet' part out of the equation so far, but we're inviting Dave to set us straight if must be.... ;D
Anyway it's great to be on the handle again and see you guys in Perth!

Go get them for the entire USA Team, stunt, racing, combat and speed. #^ #^ #^

checked out their patterns last Sunday. Anyone who wants to beat 'em better bring their A+ game. it's almost as though they've done this stuff before. the big advantage i saw for the guy from the eastern northwest was that he was able to adjust his needle valve while relaxing in his recliner which had no oil stains on it. In the air I couldn't discern any obvious superiority of one over the other other than one sounded like a model plane and the other like Shareen's ceiling fan on high.

Good luck guys, you know that we are all pulling for you! I am confident that you, Dave, and Orestes will all do well.
GO TEAM USA!!!!!!!

Oh, is that what that sound is? My bad. If we were playing Jeopardy I would have answered: "What is the sound of back to back Wooley Cups?"
-
Do well, safe travels! I hope each of you arrive in good condition, and your planes undamaged by the shipment.
HOORAY TEAM USA ! Thank you for being the representatives of our country. I appreciate all of the hard work you've done, and for being the best we are able to send into competition!
I'm certain that we will all look forward to updates, and pictures, of the event. See? No stress!

Can someone post a link where we can see what the stunt guys are doing in Aus?

Oh, Dear Mark. Exactly why I re-read everything I write several times B4 posting. Unless, of course, the post was intended as a 2.5 Star Viagra review. H^^ H^^
Ted

Well, my memberSHIP is approved.

I've been separated since October 19th, and no action.
My member is not pending, it's pounding.... >:D
But, I have been getting in a lot of flying. Yay! ;-)
Sounds like the guys start flying stunt on the 9th, is that correct?

There's also a World Cup event running this week, with some of the world champs fellows competing (including the US guys). http://www.cl-ausworldcup2016.org/index.php
I'll be in Perth on Friday and plan to go and check it out.

Day one should be winding down. Waiting for reports. Next week the real comp starts.

I saw Ian Thompson posted a PDF on the facebook group (the one that Tim Wescott is a MEMBER of)....

Looks to me like the United States has stacked their team similar to that of the National Leagues pitching staff for the 1965 All Star Game,,
Sandy Kofax , Juan Maricheal & Bob Gibson.
Best wishes boys, John L.
