Ditto Dennis. I too am not a great builder and I usually don't let anyone see the naked frame unless the pictures not that clear.

That is truly "Master Craftsmanship" and we all respect your skill.
It is obvious that you take great joy in building these wonderful airplanes and your photos are an inspiration.
My Stilettos were not "super neat" on the inside so think about this.------I am about to remodel a bedroom in my home using wood so please feel free to stop by and "Do it for me"!!!!!!

Great photos, wow, I love the jig you built. Can I buy one from you? It looks like I'll want
to make my own control horns, I'm using tilted bellcrank setups nowadays.

Maybe I'll just plagarize your design! ;->

I also love your solution for jigging the molded leading edge.

Let's see if I can put in words the thrill your kind words caused me. I build model airplanes since I was a boy (I'm 53 now) began competing in stunt in 1979 and been following your stunt career ever since. Needless to say, your "Stilettos" were always a real joy to behold. A truly inspirational masterpiece to strive for. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to contemplate your planes in person.
Let me tell you that the name "Les McDonald" for us here in Argentina -and I'm sure for the whole stunt community worldwide as well- is always synonymous of excellence.
In 2002, while in the Miami int'l airport waiting for my flight to Buenos Aires -re scheduled for one and a half hours later- I was about to take a cab to Orange Blossom Hobbies to meet you in person (I was told that you were part of the hobby shop staff or the owner) but couldn't make it.
So, Sir, thank you very much indeed for your encouraging words. I will keep this post forever.

Well...you don't need to "buy" that horn jig from me or anyone. You are more than capable of replicating and even improving one, of course.

Tilted bellcrank? Can you please elaborate?

That is not actually a jig you see on the LE. Those are just templates that I make to check for the exact "curve" of the leading edge while shaping it with the sanding block, because this is not a molded LE wing but a Lincoln Log one. You know, if you get carried away with the sanding block here, you can easily ruin the airfoil.

Hi Matt,
Yes, there's one: that "V" clears the stab TE (with "down" input) so you don't have to cut the usual slot in it that may weaken the center part of the stab.
