Title: What to build?
Post by: Bill Little on September 30, 2009, 09:46:11 PM
I know everyone has been talking about what they would like to build for this class.  I cannot decide at all! LL~

I like the Juno so much that I built my PAMPA class plane to look like it with updates from Billy and Bob Hunt.  So I *could* just build the Juno, but.......  I like Bob's Genesis, especially the .46 size one!  Then there is Gene's Stunt Machine, and Vic's F-8 Crusader........ And I really like Les' big Stiletto!  Throw Al's last Mustang in there..... then we get to a couple of Denny Adamisin's planes....... And of course I could always whip up a Patternmaster, and I can't forget Bob Whitely's Miss Kell!

Wow, I don't have a clue..... ;D

Build Vic's Crusader!  I'd love to see one, and maybe it could help get him back into stunt (grandpa and I are trying little by little to get him back into stunt)

Bill    People talk about building the Juno but just never seem to get around to it. There was a kit a few years ago but it didn't have the built up flaps. The only one's I have seen are Billy's, mine and one other about 15 years ago. If you build one you will not have to worry about another showing up.

Hmmm? Are there any I-beamers from that era?  There ya go. y1 H^^

How about a Bob McDonald Aquilla???  Good looking, GREAT flying bird - Rookie of the Year 1979.

I saw Les McD win with his 35 Stiletto, so have a soft spot for it... Also have the kit plans for the 'commercial version' of it.

Have plans and wing cores for the 35 Genesis...

Claus Maikis also had several beautiful .46 and .60 ST suitable designs in the 1970's; I'm charmed by his Palatin, particularly...

So many others in the (mostly)ST.46 era!

HI Chief,

The Juno is definitely an I-Beam.  Had the plans for years.... my favorite looking Stunt plane that is past the Classic era.

Matt, I talked to Vic a year or two ago abut his 35 size original F-8Crusader.  I would have built it then, but he said he didn't start anything on it until after January of 1970.  I lmost built his *new* piped F-8 Crusader when Flying Models published it about 10 years ago.

Thanks or the opinions, guys!

Well, like Bill, several come to mind. Probably either be my own design Viking from 1972 or a Dennis Adamisin Orange Crate.

Trust me, there are many others from the 70s that I would like to build.

Well, Eddie, I think you (and Ty!) have sold me on the Juno.  I have a few projects to finish up, but maybe I can get one done by the Spring Huntersville meet.  I do believe I will go with the ST G.51 like I used in my USA-1.
