Vector 40

(1/1)

Perry Rose:
The Vector 40 with the 50.5 inch wing span kitted by Brodak, CLB 48, is it N-30 legal?

Robert Zambelli:
And, according to John Brodak, it was the best performing plane he ever sold.

Perry Rose:
Thanks Ty and Robert. I won the kit at the El Dorado contest raffle. It's waiting for low humidity for the clear coats. Could take a while. Without the clear coat it weighs 44 ounces with 0.6 ozs tip weight and the Brodak .40 I won at the same raffle.

That is one thing I don't understand about this design, it's finished weight is almost always over 50 ounces. Yours will push 50 by the time you are finished with clear. It's not that big of a model, so I'm thinking that it must be over built on some areas. The ARFs are the same way 44 ounces with clear and ready to fly would be pretty decent. I'll have to take a cruise through the ARF section and see if I'm remembering this wrong. Sean built one from a kit and has had a ARF or two and his were all in the higher range. They seem to carry their weigh pretty well. I'll have to pull out my kit and look over the plans.

   Type at you later,
