Title: Sheek's Heinkel 100
Post by: Robertc on March 01, 2014, 10:14:51 PM
Just finished my Nostalgia 30 project - a Sheeks Heinkel 100.  Powered with a LA 46.  Waiting for winds to calm down for first flights.
The LE is really BLUNT!!!  Very curious as to how this one flies.

Looking good, Robert!  Looks like it should fly real well.  Good luck with it!

Looks great Robert. I will be interested in hearing how it flies. Didn't the original use an HP .40?

I have never talked to Jack about this plane, but the article mentions a HB and the head looks like it.

Finally had a decent day to try out the new plane.  New engine(broken in) along with a different prop.  Had expected that I might need
to repitch the prop, change pushrod length, add nose/tail weight just to get trimmed out.  Three laps, into inverted, then two outside loops and
then full pattern.  Needs almost no trimming!!!  The very blunt wing is great.
I made this plane for VSC, then decided not to go this year.  Next year, I already have my plane done and more than the usual four flights
on a new plane before heading to Tucson.

You can still make it! ;D

I can make it, yes, but only for the exhibition flying.  With my good friend Roy Trantham passing away yesterday, my interest in going
is not very high.
