Mo' Best.
« on: April 10, 2022, 07:01:07 AM »
Larry Cunningham wrote that in 1987 Bobby Jones published his Miss BJ profile in Flying Models. That inspired him to design the Mo' Best. Does anyone have the right dates on the Mo' Best? I figure it should have been designed before 1992.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

I met Larry in 1992 and he was just finishing his two MoBests, Liberty and Justice.  I think I saw first flights on both of them in 1993.  I built my first one in 1994 after being impressed with his.

Hi Robert

Per our prior discussions, I was thinking 1993 was the Nos 30 date, but if he was finishing "Liberty" & "Justice" in 1992, then they were certainly designed by then.  That means Mo'Best is a Nos 30 design NOW.

Concur?

I'd say it was designed in 1992 or maybe even 1991, but construction wasn't till 1992 and first flights in 1993.

Larry didn't draw the plans till a few years later.  The plan that I got was done on a dot matrix printer, not nearly complete as the CAD plan for PAMPA.

Is there a copyright date on the plans? D>K I'd  go by that.

Plans have been done and re-done several times over the years, the last time by me when I finished off a few Brodak Hardware notes for the kit.  The photo record is much easier to track & date - per Robert's comments above.
