Jimmy Mitchell 1981 Illusion

Built in 1981.
According to Jimmy, built on Bob Hunt provided Genesis Mk4 wing cores, and Stiletto moments (I'm assuming the 660 when Jimmy told me that)
And of course, Jimmy's own aesthetics.

Running with a Gene Martine custom ST46, 1/2" shaft extension, and a Bolly 2blade 11.5x6.5 prop, stub muffler and pressure.

The spinner was lost over the years, the blue anodized spinner is mine, an AeroProducts Randy Smith unit I had on the shelf.

It sports a BOLT THROUGH metal tank (Jimmy must have been reading that Fancher guy's stuff, heh)

Music wire leadouts through an adjustable slider, and a tip weight box facing the outwards way on the tip.

This is still a great looking plane. An easy 16 or 17 pointer in Muncie even after 34 years, it would have probably been within short reach of the front row when it was new.

I'll put together some numbers when I get time and add more details later. It's 55" span and roughly 620 squares with my crude math.

I plan to put up some gentle tribute flights on it, and will report back.
