Hallmark - Plans?
« on: December 24, 2010, 06:17:36 PM »

Anyone know of or have any information about Gene Schaefer's (spelling way wrong) Hallmark?
I have only seen a few pictures but what I have seen looks good.

Thanks

Actually, Randy, I did get some of those black plastic "holders" (upgraded from cereal boxes with the tops cut off) but a friend of mine took almost ALL of them out once, put them randomly back (you'd have to know him! LOL!!) and I haven't put them back in order! LL~ LL~

Hi, Bill, we built a Hallmark while writing the SN article; ST 46 like Gene used, flew absolutely great!!! No doubt this was a world class machine. Gene was very gracious and helpful in authenticating the plans, and seemed truly humbled that anyone was still interested!  Bob Hunt had kept in touch with him, and was a big help with the article. Eliott Scott drew the plans for SN.  Just got a set of wings from Bob for another Hallmark...RIP, Gene, thanks for the memories...

It looks like it would be a fantastic N30 project.
I was thinking one of Dad's Tom Lay St46s OR a Tom Lay McCoy 40 (I guess I need more of my OWN engines hehe)
I guess an LA46 would probably suffice, is it a little to big for the Aero Tiger 36?

Aaron,
What little time I Had on mine before it went in I felt my 36 was fine (not an Aero, Barker 36).  I would think the 46 would work well also (I think at some point thats what was in the orgional).

Hey Bill,

Is this the one from the article? Dick Wolsey brought it to Brodak's this past year.

I think Dick is running an Aerotiger 36 in it.

Hi, Bill, yes, that's the Hallmark we built for the SN article.  Flew really nicely with an ST 46; certain any of the newer engines would work just fine.  I think Gene did his homework, and did a super job with the Hallmark.
