Genesis 35 and 46

There is much talk about the Genesis model but nothing is mentioned about the smaller Genesis 35. Here are the magazine covers for both and the plans for the 35 size.

Hi Ty:

Yeah, I built a few of them there Genesis planes a few years back. I had a few of each of the 35 and the 46 size models. They seemed to fly okay for me. Tried one with a rudder and called it the Crossfire... VD~

Back in the late 1990's, a bunch of us shop rats built G-35 based stunters in Scotty Smith's basement.  Johnny Duncan, Rob Aronstein, Glenn Kaler, Noel Drindak, and I along with Scotty all built "variations" of Bob Hunt's design, with his permission.  All flew just great, using OS 32-F, OS 40 FP, Stalker 46, and later a ST 46 to pull these guys along.  Naturally, the lighter versions flew better, but all flew very well!  Great design, thanks Bob and thanks, Scotty!

In the early '90s I built a Genesis variation, also, Bill.  Bob told me that he had a side view of a model he called the "Ain't".  Looks like Scott used the drawing to come up with the CDMAC Special.  The Genesis I wing was stretched an inch or so each side.  I powered it with a Byron Barker OS .40FP.  I told Bob I was going to call it the Parable, keeping with the biblical theme and the model was aimed at the up and coming flier.  It flew really good!!  Unfortunately I decided (quite by accident) to re-kit it while practicing one day....... :(

Hi Bill:

I still have the side view and top view fuselage plan for that model! Don't remember calling it the "Ain't," but I'm starting to forget things, so maybe I did...

The idea behind that design was to come up with a model that could be more easily built than a Genesis, and still provide the same type of performance. I really like the name"Parable." It fits the intent of the design. Perhaps I should dust that one off and make a finished set of plans for it.

Matt: There was a Genesis kitted by M&P just after I had won the 1978 World Championships. Dick Mathis, owner of M&P wanted to kit the winning design, but when he found out how big it was he asked for a smaller version. I sent him the plans for the Genesis 40, which never was published (I do have the plans for that model and several were built, so it is Nostalgia legal...), and then he highly modified the design to fit into the kit box. I was never consulted about the changes, and he also put on the kit box cover that it was my World Championship plane. None of that was accurate... That's why I don't allow any of my designs to be kitted anymore.
