I just heard from another flying buddy that Gary Frost passed away last night after battling caner for the least couple of years. Arrangements are pending and I will post anything that I hear about.
Gary was primarily a combat flier and you long time combat guys will remember him. Gary was on the first US FAI combat team back in the early sixties I believe.
Gary moved into flying stunt after retiring from the combat wars and flew other speed and racing events also. Gary was a member of the Lafayette Esquadrille club and a past member of the old St. Ann Hot Heads. I can remember seeing him in c/l model displays at local shopping centers and such and was part of the group that put on demonstrations at Cardinal baseball games and at St.Louis Cardinal football games. I guess I knew him for a bout 40 years or so. A good guy, good modelers and a good friend who will be missed.
Respectfully,

Sad to hear this. He and I traveled to a bunch of Nats together as well as pitting each other at local contests back in the mid to late ‘80s, maybe even the early ‘90s. I lost touch with him when I gave up combat and started racing dirt late models. I heard at ‘17 Nats he was not doing well. I kept meaning to reach out to him but never did. Rather sorry I didn’t now. He was a good guy and loved combat!
