We lost another good one: Ed Barry
« on: July 10, 2019, 12:25:26 PM »
Ed Barry returned to control line about ten years ago. He joined the GSCB with his son Ryan and flew in almost all of the local contests. Ryan (then 10?) became quite a good flyer and Ed flew at the Advanced level.
Ed had been a CD and contacted the AMA and his license was reinstated.
Ed CD'ed several contests in the area annually and was recruited to be the District II CL/FF coordinator following the passing of Dave King.
Ed died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 75.
Funeral details:
Viewing is at Cusick Funeral Home 80 Mountain Ave. Somerville, N.J. Friday July 12, from 6-9 pm and Mass the following morning at Immaculate Conception Church om Saturday at 9:30 am.

He'll be missed!

I'm sorry to hear that.  Ed will be sorely missed at the Circle Burners.

That's very sad news. Ed always took a minute to talk to my son and I when we would see him. He will be missed. Ken & Shawn
