Very sorry to hear this. The kits he offered were obviously a labor of love and effort to promote the hobby.

It was always nice visiting with him at Brodaks. He'll be greatly missed.

This is kind of a shock. I know he was in bad health but kept going. First met him at the first Tri-Cities NATS and was treated like he knew me all his life. Was hoping to see him again. :'(

Sad to hear this. I really liked Joe. He will be missed.

Sad news. I never personally met Joe but have conversed with him off and on for quite some time here on the forum. Seemed like a really nice guy who certainly had a passion for the hobby and it's people. My condolences to family and friends, thanks for everything Joe. H^^

I met Joe at a couple of contests. He was a very nice guy, generous with his time, committed to carrier, and always open to new ideas.

I met Joe at the Fly-In a few years back.
Truly interesting and intelligent guy.
Does anyone know in what city/state he lived?

Bob, Joe lived in Waitsburg, Washington, and in earlier years Sunnyside, Washington. (southeast side of the state) He was originally from upstate New York, but do not know when he moved west. I first met him in the early 1980's.

I met him at the NW regionals, sad to hear

I first met Joe at an earlier Brodak Fly in. Great guy. At following Fly Ins it always seemed I had known him forever.
Rest in peace Joe.
Prayers being said for your family.

Very sorry to hear this. I bought 4 Ukie 35 kits that Joe and Jim Carpenter had produced years ago. Great trainers for the kids. J&J would always toss in some extra goodies to the box. Both of them great guys...now gone.

I'm so sorry to here that Mr. Joe has passed on. He will be missed. Kathleen and I met him and his sweet wife at Brodak's several years ago. They were very nice and down home.

I am. Very sorry to hear that. I liked Joe a lot, he is the main reason I got into carrier. Now he can fly with angels.
