Combat flier Jeff Hanauer from Phoenix passed away Sunday night. He had a stroke several weeks ago and never regained consciousness. I barely knew him, but I was saddened by his passing, and that no one else has posted this yet. Hopefully someone who knew him better will have something to add.

That is very sad news as I have read a lot about him in the past.
I was always taught to respect my elders, but it keeps getting harder to find one.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days lived.

Jeff was part of the fabric in the combat community in AZ. He would help, do more than his share and was a good flyer. He was the big brother kind of guy and the before and after top gun parties always seemed to be at his place. I'll miss him.
