A controline participant and avid builder died Friday. Evidently of natural causes. Hi name was Phil Green and participated in combat in his earlier years with the Norfolk boys. He began flying stunt but several problems halted his progress. He flew at Huntersville, Jacksonville and the King Orange in Beginner Stunt. He was a very prolific and accomplished builder. We had been very close friends for over 30 years. Please send up your prayers and thoughts for his wife and the family, he was a good man. I will always miss him.......

Why do the good ones get called too early. Prayers on the list. :(

Hi Doc,
Thanks. If you pressured Phil about his biggest thrill in flying he would say that he beat Phil Cartier in a match once! <= He could cut about the prettiest perfect sets of ribs as anyone.....

Sorry to hear that it must be a big lose.

Phil Green used to be a regular at the Norfolk Aeromodeler combat contests. I ran into Phil a few years back and he told me that he was getting into stunt now. We talked about some of the motors that he was getting ready to try out. Phil was a nice guy but he would be glad to cut your streamer. Sorry to hear about his passing. It was a pleasure to hang around with Phil at contests.
