I got an email from Dan Rutherford late this afternoon, saying that he picked up on a facebook post by Tracy Schultz, stating that Don passed away last night. That's all I know about it, except that Don had a lot of health issues for the last 5 or 10 years, and now he's no longer in any pain. Fair winds, Mr. Shultz... Steve

ahh, man, I didnt want to hear this, what a shame, I realy loved Don fo rall his quirky..
He will be missed,
I wish I could have one more hour to talk with him, he was always such a passionate guy

Yea, just saw this on Facbook. Damn. He will be sorely missed. I've spent a lot of time with Don over the last few years. He was a wonderful guy and a very generous one. He was a great builder, flyer and friend. He will be missed a great deal by me.
Pardon me, I'm going to go cry now.

Another legend gone that I never met. :( :'(

My condolences to the friends and family of Don.
Seemed like a still very enthused modeler.

Oh, no....... I now remember my long winded phone calls with Schultzie and how good they made me feel! I will miss this fine man, but I know he is able to rest now. My very best thoughts and prayers for his family and all his friends...... A great "Modeler" in the true sense.

Here is the email I received from Dons wife a short time ago.
Hello,
This is a follow up to let you all know Don passed away Friday night at 11:30 pm.
Our daughter, Joy and I were with him when he passed on to heaven. We were greatly relieved to know he was no longer in any pain and agony and finely at peace.
I will keep you posted as to any celebration of life plan we have for him.
Carol
Another really good guy no longer with us.
