For those of you who hadn’t heard, after a long battle with cancer David Reyes passed away on November 27. David was one of our favorite members in NVCL and we all liked him very much. He was always smiling, always positive, and the best friend a person could have. Dave was a terrific builder and a fun guy to be with and to fly with. I think everyone in the club admired his building skills and we were always looking forward to seeing his next plane. He really liked Jack Sheek’s designs and was the master of the “I-beam” wing. Dave came out to help when we did demo’s and was one of our consistent attendees at the Brodak’s contest. I think I can speak for the whole club in saying that we are going to miss him terribly.
The funeral will take place Saturday, 12/10/11 at 11:00 a.m. at Evangel Assembly of God 5900 Old Branch Ave Temple Hills MD 20748 phone- 301-899-5940.

Thank you for passing this on to us, Scott. I had no idea. I only met David a couple times, but felt he was a great guy. MY prayers for his friends and family.

I first met Dave at Brodaks many years ago.
He also would come up to the Cleveland, OH stunt contest as he had relatives near Akron.
Dave was a pro class builder, one of the good guys & died way to young.

I am so very sad to read of Dave's passing. Last September I was so happy to see him at the NVCL Contest with his new Hurricane Stunter which is a real beauty. The model and Dave are featured in my next column of Control Line World. I am saddened to learn that Dave won't be here to see his masterpiece in print however I am certain he'll know all about it. Dave truly was one of the good ones in our midst. I am most grateful to Al Reed for having brought Dave to the NVCL Stunt Contest.

So very sad. I met Dave at the FCM contest. A very nice guy and easily liked. He'll be missed. Here's a picture of Dave at the 2005 FCM contest with his Jack Sheeks Knight.

Dave and I spoke often after he told me he'd been diagnosed with cancer. He said he was One with the Lord, and that he'd be okay. He asked me one night if he could put me in his prayers. I was touched by the man. At the NVCL contest, he was quiet but cheerful.
How he cranked out so many of Jack Sheeks' airplanes while raising three children is beyond me.

Dave was always a pleasure to be around, , built nice , classy models and one of the guys at Brodak's that makes the week memorable

I got to meet Dave up at the NVCL contest the last couple of years. He was a neat guy and one helluva builder. Sometimes its hard to figure out the good Lord's plans when things like this happen. Godspeed Dave.
