Oh man I remember  seeing that FW190 when it was just starting to be sheetfed on the fuselage...had the pleasure of flying a big motor for the first time at his place in the woods....Tons of knowledge and a pure gentleman.

I met David a few days after he was born. His parents, Bill and June, were members of the Ruston Hobby Hawks model plane club, shown here around 1957. It was a great time to be 13 years old.

Sorry, Riley. I'm the one with the blue "Sweep". ("Quickers" weren't invented yet) Not a good combat flyer, I entered my "Sweep" in C-D Speed combined at Baton Rouge and placed Third, my first trophy.  Fox 35, 77.22 mph. This was when there were hundreds of entrants and we all tent-camped on the State Capitol grounds. Again, a great time to be 13.

Back to "Mule #5, it's coming along,

Well, I blew that, those pix were to be on the Garage Paint Shoppe thread, but, they came out ok, so I'll leav'em here.

Dave would come down to New Orleans for treatment and he and I went to lunch one day when he and his wife came down for a couple of days.  This was right before he died.  I really liked Dave and still miss seeing him fly on our circles here in City Park.  Just really a fine fella.
