Bill Heyworth has been admitted to Northwest Hospital in Tucson with a gall bladder stone in the pancreatic duct last Saturday night. His kidneys are not doing well; his lungs and heart are being helped by medication. He is on a ventilator and cannot speak to friends at the moment. Elaine can be called for support at 520-572-4677.
Elaine called me a few minutes ago to have this posted to their friends in stunt.

I called and talked to Bill for quite a while back when I was thinking of kitting the "SKYSCRAPER" that Bob Palmer had designed. He was one of the nicest gentlemen I have ever talked to. I send my prayers for him and his family and pray for a speedy recovery.

Bill really loved this hobby of ours and the people in it. Elaine was with him at every function whether it was a contest, a barbecue, or just an informal get-together at someone's home. I'm going to miss him and his warm enthusiasm.

I am very glad to have been able to make the trip to Tuscon for VSC and able to have met this fine gentleman in person. I am very grateful to him and Elaine for all their kindness to my son when he has been in the area. I will keep Mr. Heyworth, his wife , family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.

I was at the hospital with Elaine, the Capitanellis,Barbara Trostle,Rickii Pyatt and Mac, Bill's son Kenny and some of the Heywoths's friends and their doctor. Bill passed peaceably at 6:30 Tucson time.
It will be strange to go to the flying field and not see Bill there. Bill did a lot for many of us and posessed more knowledge than most realize. There is now a large hole in our lives.
May the Lord bless you Bill.

Now I have had time to get over the shock of Huggy Bears(aka Bill) passing. Even tho I only seen tham at VSC most of the time, it was the other times I will remember. Like when we went out for the Wife's Aunt Betty's birthday party. That Saturday was girls night. Richard my brother-in-law and Willow, the grandaughter went with me to the local track for car racing. Firs people we see is the couple, Bill and Elaine. He will be missed. Tell Elaine for me to take care of herself.

We at FCM are grieved by Bill's passing and will be much in prayer for Elaine and the rest of the family.

I met Biil several times at contests in Socal. I didn't know him well but, he was always a gentleman to me. So sorry to hear we lost another one of us.
-
I have known Bill from the Southern California contests I have flown in the last ten years. There was something magical about his personality that you discovered within the first thirty seconds of meeting him.
I only wish that I had known him better. I am truly at a loss for words and my heart is breaking for Elaine.

I will truly miss Bill at our flying sessions several times a week. Bill was always there...always helping someone and a true friend.
The world is a lesser place now.
Godspeed my friend.

Awww, I sure hate to hear that.... Bill was as friendly and genuine a guy as you might like to know. I feel fortunate to have met him back when he was escorting Bob Palmer around in the late 90s. Seems like I just sat across from him yesterday on Ricky's patio. My condolences to Elaine and the Heyworth family. :(
