Ztron V4 Timer Help PLEASE!!!!!!
« on: January 17, 2010, 05:05:41 PM »
What am I doing wrong with setting up my timer...
reading the instructions that come with it, you turn off the power - and move the DIP switches to the required setting - then turn on the power whilst holding the DP button down to access the programming - then set the switches to desired parameter a push the DP button again to set it......

I am following this procedure, but it is not saving any of the settings......what else can I try?

Wynn,
I don't have the V4, but it sounds like the setting procedures are similar to the V3 that I do have.

According to my V3 instructions, you need to hold down the PB for a few seconds even after you plug in the power. You probably are doing that, but I thought I'd mention it anyway!

Since apparently it is working with the default setup, it sounds like the issue may be the PB switch.

You might take a magnifying glass and look at the solder connections, just to make sure they are all good (had a problem once with a JMP-2 where the soldering was missing on a few pins).

After that about the only thing you can really do is to contact Ztron.

Hi Wynn,

1. Make all connections and hold down the push button (PB) while turning the power ON.
2. Select the parameter you want to adjust (ex. starting motor power, switch one ON all others OFF) and press the PB for one second.
3. Set the starting motor speed using the dip switches and press the PB for one second to save the setting.
4. Turn the power OFF. The change was made and you can go fly.

If you want to make another change after step 3 set the dip switches to the next parameter to be changed (ex. ending motor speed, switch two ON all others OFF).

5. Set the ending motor speed using the dip switches and press the PB for one second to save the setting.
6. Turn the power OFF. The changes were made and you can go fly.

If you want to make further changes keep selecting the next parameter after saving the previous change.

Something to note; if you hold the PB down to long it will not save the setting. The setting is saved instantly when the PB is pressed, so one second is all that is needed.

Good luck, Mike

If you want to make another change after step 3 set the dip switches to the next parameter to be changed (ex. ending motor speed, switch two ON all others OFF).

One thing I noticed with mine, is that if you select a starting speed, you better select an ending speed, because it ramps linerally to full power at the end if you don't.
