ZTron Simple timer
« on: May 11, 2009, 12:07:21 PM »
Hi

I have not read anything about the ZTron simple timer on this forum. As I have bought one I thought I write a little review.

I bought the timer from BSD Micro and it arrived in a protective cardboard box. A very good printed manual was with it. The timer itself is simple (hence the name). It has one connector for the ESC and two potentiometers, one for flight time and one for motor power. I rigged up a system and tested the timer and it worked perfect. 15 seconds before shutdown the motor makes three beeps. Flight time is adjustable from 0-8 minutes. When you connect the battery the timer has a five second delay before it armes (word? sp?) the ESC, it then runs the motor up to max RPM and then lower it to the selected value. Stooge launch or helper is a must as you cannot change the five second delay.

Thats about it, no more features like ramp up power ( I will use the governer mode in my ESC so thats not a problem for me.)

The price? $20
