Title: Zippy Compact batteries????

Hi,
Are the Zippy Compact lipos ok as my Thunderpowers don't last too long as they do get a "hammering" in a heavy plane...70oz.
Also, I don't treat them very nice as I charge them when I come home from flying and then they stay charged till I fly next, usually the next week.
If I use the Zippys, I can conserve the TPs for competitions.

I've been using the 2700 ones in my sons Gieskie Nobler and have been impressed. The ones you link you are interesting because of their weight to capacity ratio. I just ordered 4 of these to http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=21413 They are close in weight to the Hyperion's I have been using. I want to try them in my SV22 and my new as yet unfinished Voltron. Price, weight and charge rates may make these a very attractive option to some of the more expensive ones.

You wrote "Also, I don't treat them very nice as I charge them when I come home from flying and then they stay charged till I fly next".  You do not want to store you LiPo batteries fully charged, this will shorten their life.  The rule of thumb is store them with a charge between 20% and 50% in a cool dry place.  I have used Zippy batteries and they last as long as any of the other sport batteries I have used.  Again do not store them fully charged.

Russel, I've recently been hamming the living daylights out of a bunch of 3300 6s packs for my f3a model. I'm running 2 packs in parrallel and consistently pulling over 100 amps with the setup (Low voltage, high amperage).

They do come out looking a little puffed but after 20 or so cycles of this abuse they're no worse for wear.

I am however swapping out that setup for an 8s one, running such high amperages to get the wattage is a bit rich for my taste.

They also have some motors there that look interesting. Has anyone used any of those say in the 25-40 range?

I've used the NTM motors for stuff that I don't really care to much about. They're cheap motors and are used as such.

I'm planning on using an NTM 35 36A on 4s in a 35 sized model soon, will report back on how that goes.
