What a surprise i received in the mail. I was shure i was going to hit the lottery last week wed. for 248million. The scene. I'm in the south Bronx NY 6 blocks from Yankee stadium the day of the lottery, i get out my ca,r an at my feet, 2 lottery tickets for that days draw. I was sure it was an omen. Dint win the lottery but the next day this model arrived.
yuiry Yatsenko Electric Classic3. This is a raw balsa wood kit. the raw balsa exterior is reinforced by glasscloth/epoxy interior surface. take a look at the grain on the cowl cheeks and wheel pants. this model requires some assembly along with complete finish.
the wheel pants weigh .2oz.
If you are familiar with Al Rabe construction i guess this would be the next phase in molded balsa shell construction.
The Model comes with 2 props one pusher one tractor
Enjoy the photos

Classic 3 ELECTRIC BALSA TAKE APART MODEL

Terrific kit José. There's no doubt that the balsa is first class, contest grade.
What's the price of it, shipped?
-
Claudio will post pricing Model comes in Electric and IC Projected Finish ready to fly 55oz

OK. Let me know.
-
i'd be interested in the cost of one of these also
-
Anyone have the web site address ? I tried to Google discovery-aeromodels and can't find a web site that works. :)
-
As I contemplate the latest balsa beast, all I can say about this is JUST AWESOME!
Of course I got a kick out of the props too - a pusher & a tractor! Jose have you flown these props - can you compare them to the APC's? Are the props available?
-
The quality of this kit is magnificent. I saw it last week. Design, material, craftsman, and everything is high end. Really solid construction and design.
here is the site:

I can open it.

Jose, what stage is this kit? 2 or 3?

I was able to open the site. I did not see any prices. I guess if you have to ask you can't afford it.

Jose,
There is an IC engine in the plane's picture on the box. Bad mistake. :)
How are you planning to finish the thing?
Are those props the same as for IC or have they been somehow modified for electric power? I ask because I just got a big pile of 14,2x6" pushers from Yuriy. But I'm gonna use them in an IC engine..
However, we had a long discussion with Yuriy about this technology and consensus is that, however more BOM-acceptable it is, it's still a step back in technology. It simply does not have the same stability and strenght/weight ratio than the fibre-balsa-fibre sandwich.
And personally I think that it could be more like a kit, for example the rear turtle deck, fin etc. should've been left unassembled.
But I must say that they have developed a really cool technique to make these. Wet balsa in vacuum-formed in the mold and air circulation dries it out. L

Its a ARF not a kit. Bolt together ,paint and fly.

Dennis:
I have flown my electric Shark with the Yatsenko 13.5/6 tractor prop and I personally feel it out-performs
the APC. It utilizes a little more power out of the battery - about 150 mAh. With my 2700mAh 5 cell, I suck about 2000mAh per flight
which is very close to upper limits. It's a wider blade, lighter, stiffer, and almost 1/2 inch longer.
I have asked Yurie to send me tractor and pusher wood props, in 4.5 and 6 inch pitch for field
testing. Looks like the European flyboys have got theirs, but I have as yet not received mine.
My intention was to send you a few for evaluation. I asked for 5 each of the props.
If I ever get them, I will contact you.

Yes, but now we cannot tell the difference between them. They do sell one without the hardware installed, to the best of my knowledge.

Sounds GREAT Will. I could see how the extra diameter could draw more power, but I like light weight wood props. What RPM are you flying at?

I have not tached lately, but I think I am in the 8500, 9000 range. I like slightly lower RPM. Interesting thing is,
I have a 6 inch pitch tractor wood Yatsenko prop , and it flies at the close to the same lap speeds of the 13/6 pusher APC.
I have not had to change the FM-9 timer settings. But, I get more line tension through the maneuvers (even though it is a tractor)
and the airplane seems to have more "bite", especially recovering from square corners, in all realms of the hemisphere.
The APC prop seems "mushy" in comparison. I have been flying in very light winds and air when observing this.
I really feel the Yatsenko brothers have something in their props others have not found yet. Or they do what
everyone knows about, but do it better . They are exquisitely made, and the Yatsenkos
understand the Stunt World as they compete themselves everywhere in it. Their technology and aeronautical
wisdom, is realized in their creations, their airplanes, their props, and their engines. They are all
works of art and perform with the best of them, in my humble opinion.

Have U had the chance to try the pusher props yet? And if so what are your impressions. And would like to what size and pitch of the prop.

Hi All,
Hi Will,
Low rotational inertia means that the drag of the corner will slow the prop more than it will a heavier flywheel, and also do it more quickly.
The governor will, as a result, apply more torque sooner.
Maybe that's the reason for the bite in the corner.

I thought of that. Dave Cook always told me that the APC gas props give that flywheel effect for more controlled flights,
which in electric governor application may not be as desirable as it takes awhile for the governor to have a noticeable effect on the change in load.
With a very light prop, the governor mode might be noticed sooner. Some might like this, some might not.
It factors well with my flying temperament.
-
Know I know what a 2011 average kit is. Will take more than a few minutes of skilled effort to get this in the air. This passes the BOM rule.
-
Dean, how fast does the governer react in the hard corner?
-
Hi Steve,
How fast? Depends. If you have the settings on your CC Phoenix set aggressively the response time is in the neighborhood of 1/4 second. This is largely limited by how fast the controller can spool the motor up. Go too far, and you get RPM oscillations after a corner, usually from a dive. Go way too far and the motor may make ugly noises and howls. Sometimes these are hard to distinguish from the much more common mechanical causes. Some ESC governors have fixed response times and are substantially slower.
Different strokes ...

I'm going to speak in Jose's behalf. He has not tried the Yatsenko pusher prop. He's busy with other projects.
He is asking permission from the Yatsenkos to send the prop to me for evaluation. I'm very eager to do it.
Soon as I do, I will let you know everything I found out.

There is no building to it as I see. Assemble the components then apply the finish. Then go fly. The site did come up for me and all the info they have on there is awesome. They have worked hard at it than I ever would. If I had the money I would have a couple of them. Of course it goes to say the same for the other events I would like to try, like F2C, F2D and F2A. I guess that is why I am taking the attitude to fly for fun. D>K

John, that was a very nice thing you said. The Yatsenko brothers should be recognized and given credit for what they are doing. And you did just that.
Thank you !

Where are the prices?
Nice drawings with measurements. Learn a bunch from that!

You have to e-mail to them directly, and ask for a price, based on what you are ordering. Prices move up and down a little, depending on the
exchange rate between the US dollar and the Euro.

Last I heard about prices in in the "thousands". Of course, the cost is relative o the product and what the market will bear. Not saying they are not worth the price! It's just all relative.
In my case I have bought, and driven for a long time, over a dozen nice automobiles for less. LL~ LL~
