Title: Wire gauge

What gauge wire should I use between a Castle ice lite 50 and
 A 4s 2700 mAh battery? 12 gauge seems to big.

Didn't the ESC come with wire?

If it's super-flexible, 12 or even 10 gauge should be good.

Pete, With a 4 S battery, use 12 ga.  If you were using a 5S battery like I do, then 14 ga would work.

The new castle edge lite 50 tech drawing shows AWG13 for the motor and battery leads.
