which way to go

I am running a turnigy D3536/9 910 KV
34 ounce Plane 460 sq in 10 x 5.5 prop
59ft .012 wires 5.1 sec lap time
Zippy 2200 4s 25c battery
40A esc Huban timer with the adjustable pot
This is the best plane I have ever put together and flown
I can only get 4-1/2 minutes the battery takes 1790 after 4-1/2 min.
If I turn the timer for 5 it slows down at the end and barely stays in the air
motor only has a dozen runs on it 2 batteries are brand new
Should I get a 860 KV motor or a 1040 KV motor
thanks fred Q

Higher Kv = higher speed for the same voltage. So -- Kv = 1040.
1790mAh is 81% of 2200mAh, and cheap Chinese batteries aren't noted for meeting their full ratings reliably -- you may find (after you go to that 1040Kv motor) that you need more battery capacity.
Are you using the ESC in governing ("helicopter") mode?

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Fred,
For this size ship you can drop to a 9x6 prop, this will drop your amp draw. For me I would aim for a 4.95 lap time. Also check that your ESC is set for at least the same or high rpm then you have the timer set for.
Best, DennisT

i used the zippy 2200 4s on a 52oz ship with a Cobra 2820/12. I was able to get through the pattern in good air but it was borderline. The Turnegy 2800 is a better battery and is not much bigger/heavier. I was able to successfully use the Zippy 2700. I am not too familiar with your motor but the numbers imply that it is likely more comfortable with a 5s. I have used the Zippy 3000 5s on a 3520 pulling a 65oz ship with no issues.
I just don't see you being happy with a 2200 on a 35xx motor.
