EParrot development
« on: February 06, 2016, 08:22:51 AM »
Hello,
EParrot will be powered by Cobra 2820/12.
The wing halves have been built by folding the 0.19” thick foam boards with paper "skins" (PFP) and then joined together with four plywood "tongues".

These "tongues" (1/32" thick, 1.0" wide and 7" long) are beefed up to 1/16" in the center to better resist the flight loads generated transverse shear. The length of these extra 1/32" ply doublers is 3".

The rest of the model will be build using balsa as I am finding the PFP quite demanding and time consuming to work with, tricky to water/weather proof and prone to irreversible surface damages. I hoped to build the wing faster and lighter when compared to the traditional methods but this was not the case.

Thanks
M
